WHAT IS IT?
A one-minute film challenge celebrating the spirit of riding and the people who live it. Open to filmmakers, content creators and motorcycle lovers - all you need is a story, a bike and 60 seconds.
THE CHALLENGE
Create a 60-second film or reel that captures the soul of your motorcycle scene - whether that’s the country, the city, the bike, the rider, the garage, the friendships or the freedom.
How It Works
Create your film
Maximum length: 60 seconds
Film can be shot portrait or landscape style
Must feature a motorcycle or reflect motorcycle culture (rides, workshops, lifestyle, stories, people, etc.)
Must have some kind of story / narrative - i.e. not just action clips or helmet-cam footage
Can be shot on any camera (i.e. phone, Insta360, GoPro, cinema camera, etc.)
Submit Your Entry
The DMFF Reel Short Challenge is open to film-makers anywhere in the world.
All films must be entered via the Film Freeway website
Entry Fee is US$ 25
Films must also be upload to Instagram and tagged with @DubaiMotorcycleFilmFestival, @AdvancedMediaME and @motofever
Films must also include the hashtag #dmff2025

Closing date: Friday 7 December

Judging Criteria
Creativity - unique angle or concept.
Storytelliny - emotional or narrative impact within 60 seconds.
Cinematography - composition, editing, pacing.
Sound / Music - how well it complements the visuals.
Originality - not just a ride video.
PRIZES
1st Place: AED 1,000 or a DJI Flip (DJI RC-N3)
2nd Place: AED 750 or a DJI Osmo Nano
3rd Place: AED 500 or a DJI Mic 3 Dual
NB: Winners living outside the UAE are responsible for any postage/courier fees along with any import duties for physical prizes.

Yes! You can shoot in either portrait or landscape format - whatever best fits your story and platform.

Anything that reflects motorcycle culture - countries, cities, rides, workshops, friendships, freedom, custom builds, or life behind the handlebars. It just needs to tell a story or convey emotion, not just random clips or helmet-cam footage.

Upload your film to FilmFreeway and enter via the DMFF Reel Short Challenge page.
Pay the US$25 entry fee.
Post your film on Instagram, tagging:

Absolutely. You can work as a solo creator or as part of a team - just make sure all contributors are credited properly in your submission.

Yes. Dialogue is welcome, and subtitles are encouraged if your film includes spoken language that may need translation or clarification.

To be fair to all participants, any film exceeding 60 seconds (including titles or credits) may be disqualified - so keep it tight!

Yes. Selected entries may be showcased on DMFF’s social channels and potentially screened during the Dubai Motorcycle Film Festival.

No - it’s open worldwide. Anyone, anywhere, can enter as long as the film celebrates motorcycle culture.
